This forum is for feedback to the 2006 BattleCry event held in Auckland on 11th and 12th Feburary.
We are looking for feedback on what happened;

- What could have been better about the other games?
- How did the registration process go?
Anything and everything is useful - next event is looking to be bigger and better again!

What I liked
I got a blast out of seeing everyone playing and enjoying themselves. It makes all the late nights and stress worth it to see it all come together.
I would like to see more demo games and activities, so people can try out some of the games they see being played as a tournament.
Pirates...
More board games, and short styled wargames like the one that the 40K guys played together after their tournament was all over.
And lots of pirates :)
We need more minions, so there are a dedicated catering team, so we can offer more healthy options like sandwiches and not run out of food :) and a entrance team so everyone coming through the doors is greeted and shown around/given loot/get signed in etc.
And probably a bigger venue, with more side rooms for roleplaying.
and did I mention pirates?!!
Love / Hate
Loved :
Heaps of roleplayers, well heaps of gamers overall in fact.
Quality roleplaying games, and not all written by old farts.
The level of players roleplaying ability.
An old fart not winning the Best GM.
Being able to play sleezy characters and not get thrown out of the con.
Meeting people I only get to see once a year.
The lvl of organisation for the little things, like the cups, inscribed lanyards etc.
The lvl of organisation for the big things, the stalls, other clubs, venue, food, door entry...
The system for choosing games and allowing the players to decide what gets run.
The prizes in quantity, quality and being specific to the games.

Not getting to run more games, mummble mummble :)
That the pics and 'who won' are not posted on this site.
More in depth info for Larp chars before the game so we get the Costumes sorted.
The 'rooms', although I do appreciate being given the downstairs rooms for my games.
Lack of interest in posting 'experiences' on National forums (diatribe / NZRag).
The heat.
