In 2006 BattleCry and http://awc.wargaming.info/">The Auckland Wargaming Club proudly presented 25mm DBM Medieval/Ancient Doubles, sponsored by http://www.urbanwarfare.co.nz/">Urban Warfare.
The 25mm DBM Doubles was run over the course of the weekend, using DBM 3.1 edition. The competition format was Swiss Chess.
For space reasons, entries were restricted to 10 teams of 2 players. Pre-registrations filled this tournament way before the weekend of BattleCry.
Results saw the Te Atatu Mafia of Glen Tibbles and Nick Buckby at last managing to get their hands on the coveted 'Heavy Metal' trophy, closely followed by the ever consistent pairing of Ivan Truong and Richard Foster. Third place went to North Shore's Andrew Hunter and Philip Abela. At the other end of the results, last years winning team of Andrew Bennetts and Wayne 'Roundie' Steward managed, in a spectacular reversal of form, to find themselves propping up the bottom of the table - no mean feat given the weight of all the lead above them!
